Maria Wilczek graduated from an inter-area individual humanities programme at University of Warsaw where she obtained a BA degree in Art History. She currently works at a children’s library and takes part in a project coordinated by Przestrzeń Wspólna foundation (formerly Chlebem i Solą) where she mentors a refugee child and guards the family’s legal and emotional situation.
She volunteered at Sounio refugee camp (Greece) and in Brest (at the Polish-Belarussian border), learning about realities of life in refugee communities and setting up a learning environment for children. She is also involved in the Refugees Welcome Polska organisation, where she helps refugees in the programme with moving, once they found accommodation.
She likes books, baking and her cat Zyzik.
